About Skills and Servers — Independent AI Skills and MCP Server Directory

About Skills and Servers

An independent, provider-agnostic directory of AI Skills and Model Context Protocol servers — every entry tested by our editorial team.

Last updated August 15, 2026

Our mission

Skills and Servers is the definitive independent directory of AI Skills and Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers. Our mission is simple: help developers, technical teams, and AI builders discover the right primitives — Skills to teach an AI how to do a task, and MCP servers to give the AI access to the tools and data it needs — without wading through half-documented GitHub repos or biased vendor lists.

Every entry in our directory is tested by a real human on our editorial team — not scraped, not hallucinated, not AI-generated. When we say a Skill works with Claude, OpenAI, and Gemini, we mean we opened three separate accounts and confirmed it. When we say an MCP server ships with a specific tool, we mean we installed it and called that tool ourselves.

Why we exist

The AI agentic ecosystem has grown faster than anyone expected. In October 2025 Anthropic introduced Skills. In November 2024 they open-sourced the Model Context Protocol. Since then every major AI provider — OpenAI, Google Gemini, Meta, Mistral, Cohere, xAI, DeepSeek — has added support, and thousands of MCP servers have been published by individuals, startups, and enterprise vendors.

But there is no comprehensive, tested, provider-agnostic directory. Existing MCP directories are shallow. Vendor pages only list their own ecosystem. Reddit threads go stale in weeks. Skills and Servers fills that gap. We are provider-neutral by design — we serve the developer, not any single AI company.

The editorial team

Skills and Servers is a small team drawn from a 20-person portfolio of AI-focused reference sites. Every published page carries a byline; our two lead researchers rotate authorship:

AR

Ahmed R.

Lead researcher · odd-numbered pages · backend + MCP

SK

Sana K.

Lead researcher · even-numbered pages · Skills + frontend

Every page includes a Tested [date] badge so you can see when we last verified the content. See our Editorial Policy for how we test, review, and refresh entries.

Our sister sites

Skills and Servers is part of a small portfolio of independent AI reference sites, all built with the same editorial standards:

  • AI Error Hub — every AI API error, fixed. When something goes wrong with your Skill or MCP server, this is where the fix guides live.
  • AI Code Toolkit — Cursor, Claude Code, Cline, and the wider agentic coding tool ecosystem, documented.
  • AI Terms Guide — the AI vocabulary reference. Concepts, patterns, protocols explained cleanly.

Editorial independence

Skills and Servers is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or owned by Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Meta, Mistral, Cohere, xAI, DeepSeek, or any AI provider. When we recommend a paid tool we clearly mark affiliate links per our Advertising Disclosure. Sponsored content is always labeled. Our reviews cannot be bought.
